Bowers Mill
Bowers Mill has around 135,000 sqft of space, made up of several buildings set among 27 acres of land, including its own mill pond.
HISTORY
Bowers Mill was built in the 17th century as a water-powered fulling mill, a part of the clothmaking process. It was then used as a corn mill and a woollen mill, before brothers Joseph and Samuel Taylor, started manufacturing textiles here in 1882. They remained here until 1991.
BOWERS MILL TODAY
It was bought by the Lowry Group in 2017, and we have worked hard to refurbish it. Today, the location has a diverse range of businesses, including the highly-rated Bowers Mill Aparthotel and The Venue, used for weddings and corporate meetings. There is also a gym and several other businesses, including Peter Jackson Textiles, ensuring the heritage of the mill continues.
It comprises of 135,000 sqft, shared across four buildings in 27 acres of rolling Yorkshire landscape.
There is plenty of parking, and the spaces can be used for workshops, offices, storage and industrial units.
BOWERS MILL APARTHOTEL
Bowers Mill Aparthotel is a key part of Bowers Mill and it’s community. At first glance, the aparthotel building takes you back to a time when gentlemen had cloth caps and ladies wore shawls – and both of those garments were made in the Bowers Mill.
Since then, this historic mill has undergone extensive renovations to offer luxury accommodation and spectacular views across the valley.
